Wonderful strike by Yossi Benayoun and terrific hat-trick by Fernando Torres. Finally, we've broken our drawing streak.

Another strike by Yossi Benayoun. A late goal to save Liverpool from dropping yet another 3 points. Even though we won, we should have done better. We were able to hold them to a 4-0 win last season and this season, we struggled? That's not good know if we're trying to fight for the cup. Stevie looks out of it. He looked alright during the first few minutes but faltered later on. Only during the last few minutes did he find space to go forward. Hope we can break whatever it is and start scoring properly man. Next up is Tottenham Hotspurs…so hopefully we can avoid a draw.

UEFA Champions League Match Day #2

Liverpool 0 Vs Marseille 1

WHAT THE HECK!! It was very VERY frustrating man watching this match. Our first lost at home since when I also can't remember. Man oh man...what telah happened? Ok during the first half, I thought not bad actually. I mean the line up itself was surprising. Here's a run through of the line up:

GK: Pepe Reina
DF: Steve Finnan, Jamie Carragher, Sami Hyypia, Fabio Aurelio
MF: Yossi Benayoun, Steven Gerrard, Momo Sissoko, Sebastian Leto
F: Fernando Torres, Peter Crouch

The first thing that pops out was SEBASTIAN LETO? Why the heck was he there? Why aren't you using Ryan Babel?! I mean no offense to Leto but Leto hasn't been playing many games. Moreover this is a CL game know. AND we're playing against a tough side. Why oh why...Looking at the match, you can see that we badly needed Daniel Agger, Xabi Alonso and Jermaine Pennant back. Agger and Alonso are out due to injuries while Pennant is on one match ban. Damn man. During the first half, I thought both were competitive enough and Stevie was able to revel in his central role. He was also able to run around but that only happened for a few moments man. Cos towards the last few minutes of first half and during most of the second half, the midfield messed up. A BIG MESS! Ok I like Sissoko but sometimes he just GETS on my nerve man. I mean he's a good player but man when he's not having a good day, you can really tell. Like the CL game, he was haiz... terrible...I thought Rafa would take him out and move Yossi in to central then put Babel on the flank but guess what. It didn't happen. Sissoko, Sissoko...he and Stevie cannot pair up man...There is lack of communications between them. Half the time that Momo got the ball, within a space of 5 secs, the ball is given away. If it's to a fellow Liverpool mate never mind but to the bloody opponent. Half the time he got me cursing at him man. Make that all the time...It was so frustrating man. From the match, you can see that Rafa should have played Babel since Pennant couldn't cos both players are best at running down wide and crossing the ball in. Something that Leto lacks. Leto half the time was playing defense, kept putting the ball out of play and getting too excited when he's about to cross. There was one play where all he had to do was to put the cross in but he overshot. Crap man. I'm glad Fabio is at least back man. If really no choice, Fabio is good enough for midfield. During the match, you can see that Stevie is unwilling to go forward. He kept moving back to play a more defensive role. You can really see him afraid to leave his post since his midfields aren’t communicating. This might as well have been a Carling Cup match man. The only time Stevie did move forward was during the last few minutes after Marseille scored their goal. He got frustrated that he just slams forward man. But that was too late man. We need Xabi back man. Momo and Stevie not working. I think the only person who can pair up with Momo is Xabi but that usually means Stevie is pushed to the right flank. I mean look at the first game this season against Aston. Stevie alongside Xabi and it was a good game. The other game is against Chelsea if not mistaken. They played another good game. Then Stevie was sidelined with the toe injury. Then when he’s back, Xabi’s out with injury. Since then Stevie’s performance have been mediocre man. Cos without Xabi or a capable partner by his side for that matter, he can’t go forward. This is not good man. The defenders….are alright I think…I really like Sami but he doesn’t have Agger’s pace. The forwards, well can’t say much right. I mean they weren’t bad. One thing though.

Torres + Crouch = Crap

Crouch is better set up with Dirk Kuyt or alone. Torres plays better with Kuyt and Andriy Voronin or alone.

So we lost. But not to worry we have other matches to play. Hope by then, we will be able to pick up our pace. Next CL match is against Besiktas in Turkey. Hopefully we can gain points from there.

Rugby World Cup

Wales 34 Vs Fiji 38
Ireland 15 Vs Argentina 30

Know what that means? Both are OUT. Yup out of the world cup. Not another misery man. First Liverpool now this. What’s happening man…Am I jinx or something? Wales were great man. They were down by 15 points I think during half time then during second half Shane Williams managed to score 2 tries and I forgot who scored the final try for Wales. And towards the last 4 minutes or so, Wales were leading 34 – 31 (if not mistaken it’s 31), then cheeky Fiji scored a last minute try to claim the win. I mean props to them for getting the win cos they’re like the underdogs in this world cup but man Wales were SO close to making it. Bloody 4 minutes. When Wales scored the last try, I told my dad, “We’re in the Quarter Finals! We’re in the Quarter Finals!” Then my dad was like, “Still got time for Fiji…Fiji quite strong know” Fiji was alright, I mean defensively not that great during second half cos I think they became complacent. Like the 2 of the tries scored by Wales, was just a simple run down the field without any defenders crashing down on the players. It was like an open play man. Then true to my dad’s word, the Fijians scored a try. WHY?! I was so hoping Wales will qualify cos compared to Ireland, their form is better even though Ireland is supposed to be the better team.

Now Ireland. Like I said, Ireland was supposed to be the better team. I mean prior to world cup, they were playing good rugby and scoring tries here and there. But come world cup, they sucked. Real bad know. The first few match already shows how much they lack in pace and aggressiveness. Even though they win those matches, most of the points are from drop goals or penalties. Even against teams like Georgia, they could have collected a bonus point but they wasted their chances. Ronan O’Gara was blah man. Usually he’s in better form then what he’s shown during these world cup matches man. He wasted opportunities to score penalties like never before. During the Argentina game, Ireland had to score 4 tries to collect the bonus point and qualify but only manage 2 tries. It was a frustrating match as usual.

American League Division Series

The ALDS is finally here haha…Didn’t managed to catch the Orioles game (the Yankees’ last game in the series before the postgame season) cos bloody StarHub broadcast another match instead. Anyway now the ALDS is here and we’re up against the Cleveland Indians. According to this season’s stats, we had a good game over the Indians. So likewise you’d expect this game to be the same right? Well the game is this morning at 6.30am. Apparently I can’t watch it as I’m working so I watched the scoreboard online. When I looked, it was already in the 6th inning. And BLOODY heck. We were trailing behind can. 9-3?! What happened. Not another one man. First Liverpool then Rugby now Yankees? The final score was:

Tomorrow morning, there’s another game at 5am I think. I am so gonna plant myself infront of the TV sia. Luckily it’s a 5-game series. We better win the next 3 to qualify for the World Series. Better win. I can’t take all these defeats anymore.

In Other News

Work has been fun…Well the usual haha…And I learnt a lot of things man. Haha…
Finally went to the Geylang Raya Bazaar last Friday with my family. But man, wrong timing. It was so packed that I got claustrophobic. A bad one man. Don’t think I’m going to go there again man. You know what, I think I’m starting to get into all this political crap man. Staying in an office all day can be boring when there’s nothing to do. Furthermore, the server here is very strict. So certain sites are considered “unfriendly”. Furthermore I don’t have the privileged of having my own cubicle so have to make do with my makeshift desk AND I’m seated near my supervisor so to avoid wandering eyes, I usually visit News/Corporate sites…mainly FoxNews, CNN, Yahoo! News and other gov bodies besides SLA. So back to being political and all, did you read about the Iran President’s, Mahmoud Ahmadenijad visit to the University of Columbia in the States? Haha…It’s a good laugh man. It’s like one party is trying to win the audience by putting in unnecessary remarks while the other is just taking it on the chin. You guess who’s who haha…But there are some pointers in his Q&A session that rings true man haha… It’s like some of the things that President Mahmoud says will make you say, “Yeah man, you’re right” No matter how much you try not too. Then there’ll be some part where you’ll say (Insert sarcastic tone)“Yeah RIGHT” Go read the reports and you’ll know what I mean. I think someone posted the whole session on YouTube. That’ll be interesting to watch man haha. I’ll post whatever I wanna say about the session another time cos it’ll be one lengthy post haha…As if I haven’t bore you enough with these post haha…
